The Peer Support Program provides recovery-oriented services to individuals who struggle with serious mental illness. Services are provided one on one in the community by a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) who is an individual with a mental health diagnosis who has received specialized training and is in recovery themselves. Peer Support Services are directed by the person receiving support. The relationship between the individual receiving services and the Certified Peer Specialist often instill hope which is based on their mutual experiences. Services are intended to supplement other mental health services the individual may be receiving.
